Print this out and use it as a guide to help you prepare your household for your removal

Whitegoods

· Thoroughly clean and dry the inside of all fridges, microwaves, dishwashers and freezers.

· Empty and secure washer pumps and hoses, dry the bowl.

· Drain the water from room cooler or refrigerator evaporation trays.

Electrical and Other Appliances

· Computers and equipment, musical instruments, TV and video equipment, sound equipment, play stations etc may all need special handling or preparation. Check the manufacturers operating instructions, and carry out any preparation required.

· Drain water from evaporative room coolers.

· Prepare all room heaters, and completely remove and clean fuel and fuel oil from combustion heaters.

Kitchen and Laundry

· Dispose of all unsealed food, detergent and cleaning product containers as well as unsealed liquid containers, aerosol cans, flammable fluids, matches, etc

Around the Garage

· Dispose of all unsealed liquid containers, aerosol cans, flammable fluids, matches, paints, poisons, oils, fuels, corrosive liquids, etc.

· Drain the fuel and oil from lawnmowers, whipper snippers, edgers, chain saws etc. Clean and dry.

· Remove and secure bicycle accessories such as water bottles and pumps.

· Secure all sharp objects.

· Empty portable gas cylinders (ask your service station for help if necessary)

Rubbish Bins

· Empty, clean and dry the inside of all rubbish, garbage and waste paper bins, etc.

Around the Garden

· Empty, clean and dry outside rubbish and composting bins, wheelbarrows, etc. disconnect, drain and secure hoses.

· Thoroughly clean grease etc from BBQ, and empty gas cylinders (ask your service station for help if necessary).

· Dismantle, carefully bundle and secure outdoor settings, sporting equipment, swing sets, trampolines, etc

Hobbies and Pets

· Empty, wash and spray dog kennels, empty and clean bird cages, fish tanks, etc.

· Prepare and secure any special sporting or hobby equipment. Remove or secure all sharp or dangerous objects, including fish hooks, spears, arrows, knives, etc.
